Tuscany airports and travel

Pisa is Tuscany's gateway for low budget airlines and the availability of public transport makes getting around easy. The main railway lines running through Tuscany are:

  • Rome - Pisa - Genoa - Turin
  • Rome - Florence - Bologna - Milan

These provide fast and efficient connections with the rest of Italy. Tuscany's smaller towns are well-connected by bus.

Tuscany (Toscana) is one of the most popular and attractive tourist destinations in Italy, located centrally along the Mediterranean coast. Tuscany is a gently hilly region, known for its vineyards and olive groves. Its rich rolling landscape is complemented by towns packed with Renaissance art and architecture. The most important river is the Arno, on which Florence and Pisa are situated, although the Tiber also passes briefly through Tuscany.

There are ten provinces in Tuscany: Arezzo, Firenze (Florence), Grosseto, Livorno, Lucca, Massa Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena.

This is one of Italy's best wine-producing areas, with Chianti and Montepulciano among its famous products.
