This house is actually deceptively large.&nbsp; It includes one terratetto (terraced house) with most of the house next door included in the sale.&nbsp; The main part of the house is on 3 floors and, although in need of restoration, is surprisingly&nbsp;sound.&nbsp; The floors are of wood and will need some work, but the main structure, including beams appears solid.&nbsp; There&nbsp;are lots or original features, including a stone staircase and the rooms are generous and will be comfortable.&nbsp;&nbsp;There are 2 large rooms on each floor.&nbsp; 
The portion of house next door, which will need to be re-connected to the main part, includes just the lower two floors but adds a good portion of volume to the property.&nbsp; In all, there are 8 good sized rooms.&nbsp; The second part of the property is currently accessed through it's own front door.&nbsp; 
The roof is dry but will need work to bring up to the standards of a habitation.&nbsp; However, the property is just one room deep and the second portion shares the roof with the neighbouring property so bringing the roof up to standard should not be a major issue.

Believe it or not, this property is actually in &quot;Alta Versilia&quot; above the Versilian Coast however, it is easier to access from the Serchio Valley.
The property is accessed by&nbsp;quite&nbsp;a windy road but is close to a village with a lively restaurant and shop.&nbsp; When we visited, we were also astounded to find&nbsp;a jewel of a restaurant within walking distance of the property.&nbsp; The village is very close to the Matanna mountain and is in perfect walking and horse-back riding countryside.
The house is itself is just 20 metres from the road within a small fraction of the village so the access is quite easy.&nbsp; We are still awaiting the land plans but there is enough land to build a pool across the brook from the house.
The house itself is in dire need of modernisation and currently has very small rooms.&nbsp; For someone wanting a project, this is ideal as it is already classified as a house and so will not need the classification changed before purchase.
Inside there are four rooms on each floor.&nbsp; One enters on the first floor via a small terrace into a small dining area and kitchen with a fireplace, there is also an attached room that has permission to be raised up to the height of the house.
Once, the house was two houses and so there are two staircases leading up to the three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The house is served by electricity and water but we don't think that it has proper sewers.
Great for bargain hunters who don't mind being off the beaten track!</div>

The&nbsp;house is set in a characteristic medieval village and has it's fair share of great features, including the arches and the gargoyle.

This house is set around part of a Medeival fortress in a hilltop village in the Garfagnana valley. above the very 21st century town of Gallicano.&nbsp; From this position, one gets the most stunning view over the Garfagnana valley and up to the Tre Potenze Mountain.&nbsp; The village has a shop and a restaurant and so it is self-contained, it also has its village Medieval festa once year which something to behold.

This interesting medieval house is located in a small&nbsp;town in the Serchio River Valley, between Bagni di Lucca and Barga.&nbsp; The town has shops, bars and restaurants and also has very easy access being above the valley floor but not far or very high into the mountains.&nbsp; The town is a characteristic Tuscan medieval site with an old church and the largely intact remains of the castle.
The house itself is medieval and retains many original features.&nbsp; The garden is large for a village house and has a wide&nbsp;stone staricase that leads down to it and to the arched cantinas below.&nbsp; The garden is overgrown but you can&nbsp;still see the quality of the build.&nbsp; There is plenty of room for a pool.
The doorway from the&nbsp;street opens into a loggia with views over the garden and to the valley below.&nbsp; Above the loggia is a large balcony.&nbsp; Inside, the property needs restoration but is basically sound and, best of all, has a new roof.&nbsp; 
The third floor includes a large room inside the &quot;tower&quot; which would make an ideal master bedroom or studio.
Although in need of restoration, this property has it all; a medieval form with private loggia and part tower, a large garden with room for a pool, 3 bedrooms, good access and a new roof.&nbsp;&nbsp;
