Restored house in renowed village in the Garfagnana
This dear little cottage is found in the large village of Vagli Sopra and is one of the original, historic houses of the old town built. Vagli is best known for its Resevoir Lake and dam, constructed during the time of Mussolini. The construction required the flooding of the old village of Vagli Sotto and so the area has built up a reputation as being a place to visit.
In theory, the electricity board drain the lake every ten years for maintenance, this was last done in 1994 so we are well due for the spectacle of the appearance of the old village. When the lake is low, one can sometimes see the church tower sticking out of the water.
The house has full central heating and is ready to move into except for maybe a refit on the 1970's bathroom. The wiring is acceptable and the sewerage is public.
The house has full car access and parking opposite. There are also bars and restaurants all within walking distance as well as the lake. There is a parcel of private land just 50 meters away and not seen the day of my visit however, it is definately big enough for a garden with a paddling pool.
