Rustic Building in Stone for renovation with land and views
This barn comes with a large portion of land, about 15,000 M Sq, and is located in the hills opposite Barga on the edge of the Garfagnana and relatively close to Lucca. The building was once inhabited and has many original features including terracotta tiles, beams and a Tuscan fireplace. There is also a small stone outbuilding and a medium sized wooden barn.
The building is for complete restoration but provides an excellent starting point to create a fabulous Tuscan home. The building is in traditional stone which will restore beautifully and the land has large flat areas with lots of choice as to where you could build a swimming pool. There is also excellent car access. Electricity is right there, it just needs connecting, and the mains water supply already exists, just needing a meter fitting.
There are great panoramic views over the Serchio River valley, where there is some light industry as well as characteristic villages and towns. There is also an electric pylon in the middle distance, which does not spoil the view, but you should be aware. See the photos. Finally, there is another house close by. But, overall, this is an excellent site for reconstruction with the advantages far out-weighing the disadvantages.
So in summary, this should be a straight-forward restoration in a location, that although not quite perfect, is actually very impressive and well-worth the investment.
