Ground Floor Apartment in Iconic Village just into the Lunigiana from the Garfagnana
Just one tunnel divides this village from the Garfagnana and is famous for its round bell-tower – almost unheard of in Italy. One enters from the road and goes down to the upper ground floor. Here there is a two bedroomed apartment which is largely furnished, including a tasteful wooden kitchen. Off the large sitting room is a large balcony with access to the garden.
Underneath the apartment are three cantinas, one of which was used for making cheese when the original owners were living here.
There is no central heating but there is the option to attached to the comunal heating in the village – this still needs to be verified. The actual owners used a large, bot bellied wood-burning stove to heat the house. We are still trying to ascertain the history of the building from our clients to give further information as the property is quite grand inside with molding on the ceilings.
The shutters are in good condition as are the windows. The property will need a more modern bathroom to bring it up to date.
The village has a shop and bar. The post office is open Mondays and Fridays. The only real downside is the walk to the property from the parking lot which is about 200 m but, hey, it will keep you fit. There is a town hall in the village as this is a municipality.
