Beautiful Property in the Town of Lucca very close to its Renaissance Walls
This five-bedroom house at the entrance to the Northern part of Lucca and within walking distance to the Mighty Walls.
A part from being near the city centre, all the roads to the motorway pass by here. This makes it easy to get to the beach or to the Mountains in the Garfagnana Valley and the Mediavalle del Serchio, not to mention the great wine district in between.
The best bakery shop of Lucca is only a ten minutes walk from here, where one can get a cappuccino and a cake of the best quality.
Currently, one enters at the basement level into the open plan, day-to-day living area. This area is characterised by original features of beams, arches, columns and terracotta floors. The kitchen is highly traditional with a oven built into the wall and brick finish. On this level there are also other rooms for the sitting room, laundry, storage and access to the both the front and back gardens.
Upstairs is the “Piano Nobile” where the Count Fantirelli would hang out. These rooms are large with high ceilings. The sitting room is particularly beautiful with French doors leading to the stone steps down to the front garden. There are also three bedrooms on this level as well as the bathroom. The bathroom is modern with a walk-in shower.
Upstairs again, is the un-restored part of the house where the servants would have lived, there is also a second kitchen on this floor, 2 more bedrooms, and a partially finished bathroom. This floor doesn’t have central heating but the rest of the house has modern methane central heating.
The roof was completely replaced in 2009 with bitumen paper but no insulation. The wiring and plumbing are fully functioning but not certified as this was something that came in post 2005.
This house can really best be described as a town house as it is in a wonderful neighbourhood just outside the walls of Lucca.
