Lovingly Restored Semi-detached House with above-ground pool in its own land in Historical Site in the Hills of Lucca
The historical site mentioned above is an antique iron foundry (1798) where an elderly blacksmith is still working, as his family has done for four generations back! His working tools are actually powered by water as in ancient times. There is a small river very close to the property making this possible.
The house built in 1846 is only about a hundred meters from the foundry. It has been restored lovingly by its present owners, taking good care of the original features such the fireplace in the kitchen, the pizza-oven at the entrance and the chestnut beams in the ceilings, which have been sandblasted, coming out beautifully and cotto floors. The windows all have insects-screens.
The lower ground floor comprises a cellar, Laundry/store and a large shower room which is used as a pool bathroom, and is accessed from outside.
The upper ground floor has a pizza oven in the entrance porch, a sitting/dining room and a separate kitchen with open fire-place.
The top floor has two small double bedrooms, a small shower room and a large mezzanine/third bedroom.
The patio is on the same level as the ground floor and it’s lovely for al fresco dining.
South-facing, the garden and pool area enjoys day-long sun.
The property is completely enclosed with gates and space for cars.
The house is only two and a half kilometers from the village where there is a restaurant, two grocery shops, a bar and a pharmacy. The distance from Lucca is about 25 kilometers and it takes an hour to Pisa airport. The train station is at about 10 km. The beautiful beaches of the Versilia are at about 20 km taking the mountain road or 40 km using the highway.
The “Parco regionale delle Alpi Apuane” starts at the doorstep of the house. The property is easily accessible, no mountain road full of tight turns.
It has a good rental history, making this not only a holiday/family home, but a business opportunity as well.
