Completely Restored Home with Land Just Outside Barga
This property is interesting especially for those who prefer to avoid our mountain roads. It is just off the valley floor but has lovely views up to the mountains of the Alpi Apuane. The complex consists of two buildings and land not attached to the house but very closed by.
The house and apartments were restored in 2006-7 and so the wiring and plumbing are completely certified. The house was also restored retaining the original beams and so keeps its character. One enters on the ground floor where there is a kitchen, bathroom and utility room on the right of the entrance hall. To the left there is the dining room/library and main sitting room with fireplace. Where the library is there is also a second entrance and the staircase to go to the top level.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The entire house is reinforced to Italy’s latest anti-seismic building regulations.
Between the buildings, there is a roof garden and a back terrace. This allow access to the two rental apartments/guest suites, that also have access from the original external stone staircase. The first suite is a studio with a beautiful walk-in shower made with local stones on the bottom of it. The second rental apartment is a one bedroomed apartment with kitchen and again, a lovely walk in shower made with local stone.
There is still loads of potential within this property as, at least 80 mq of it is not yet finished. These rooms are used for wood storage, a workroom and cantina.
The central heating is wood-fired making it very economical, there are solar panels providing the hot water and a septic tank for the sewers.
