The apartment its a self-contained upper floor of a detached stone house, built in 1866 and it is located in Noceto, a tiny hamlet at the end of a road in the beautiful and unspoilt Garfagnana region of northern Tuscany.
The location of the house offers the best of all worlds. Relaxing on the balcony or in the garden or walking in the surrounding area, you can enjoy complete peace and tranquillity, as well as stunning views of the Apennines to the east and the Apuan Alps to the west. However, just a kilometre back down the road is the village of Filicaia, and a further 8km away is the attractive principal town of the area, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana.
The interior is simple but cosy with exposed beams, doors and shutters (internal & external) in local chestnut wood, white-washed walls and terracotta tiled floors. It is ideal for four people but can sleep, and is equipped for, up to five. The accommodation comprises dining/living room, 2 double/twin-bedded bedrooms (one with extra guest bed), sitting room, fully equipped fitted kitchen and a large bathroom. There is gas central heating and a wood burning stove for the colder months. Outside The front door opens on to the balcony with views over the surrounding countryside to the mountains. The large garden is full of trees - walnut, fig, cherry, hazelnut, apple and pear. In the garden there is also a secluded picnic/barbecue area with built-in barbecue and pizza oven, and a garden shed. A wisteria covered carport provides parking for one car close to the house. A second parking space is available at the end of the garden.
