ID-Casa Castello
The house is located in the south-facing hamlet of Castello and is accessed from stone staircase. You can either park at the top of the village (2 spaces) or below the house (1 space). In either case it is a short walk to the house.
On the entrance floor, there is an arched hallway and a small utility area, where there is a washing machine and the boiler. There is also a small lobby before entering the main living room with fireplace, leading to the spacious kitchen/dining room. Both these rooms have French windows which open to the fantastic covered terrace which has superb views over the valley of Valdottavo, and beyond to the Apuan Alps
Upstairs there are two spacious double bedrooms and a large bathroom. The bathroom has a characterful stained glass window.
On the top floor is an outside door to the back of the house. Here, up some steps you will find a pretty barn on two floors that needs to be restored (some useful architect’s drawings exist). Above this building is a piece of land, currently planted with olive trees, which would make a wonderful garden terrace with the finest views imaginable.
The valley is famous for its olives and olive oil. These make a beautiful picture to be enjoyed from the covered terrace which is ideal for 'al fresco' dining. The house is south-west facing so, even in the Winter, it makes a great cocktail terrace.
Under the terrace is a large storage room for bikes and wood which is an excellent facility.
The town of Valdottavo is 6 minutes drive away, here you could find grocery stores, bar, restaurant and post office.
Lucca is less than 30 minutes away.
The house is sold completely furnished with the possibility to take over the history of the rentals that the house has enjoyed over the last 20 years.
