Traditional Stone Farmhouse with Gently Sloping garden and HEATED SWIMMING POOL
Nestled amongst the gently terraced olive groves, this home is reached by 800 m of white road which is regularly maintained, leading to your own private paradise. It is a haven of peace just above the beautiful Serchio Valley, yet close to nearby villages with artisanal bakers, local butchers, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants. If you wish to indulge in your artistic activities there is space for a studio in the Guest annex. The area offers wonderful local walks and hikes, as well as a wealth of historic and artistic places to visit.
The current owners installed a beautiful 4 x 11 m, saltwater pool in 2008. Since this time, it has been maintained by the installers and had a new pump and filter system in 2022. The pool is heated, although heating is very rarely needed.
On the gently sloping land, there are 25 olive trees that produce about 12 litres of olive oil that keeps the family in excellent oil all year.
The entire house is dual aspect, having windows both sides of the house. On the ground floor, one enters either into the sitting room or the kitchen. Wooden stairs from the kitchen lead to the upper floor. The owners chose to keep the original windows except for one window that they put in the dining room giving extra light. The living room has a feature fireplace and is very cosy. There is a full bathroom on the ground floor off the dining room. Separate laundry/utility room. The terrace with barbecue and built-in pizza oven is shaded by its beautiful wisteria.
There are three bedrooms and a bathroom on the upper floor.
There is a guest annex, which used to be a chestnut drying shed, with a bedroom and full bathroom. Stairs lead up to a guest kitchen, which is installed but which the current owners have used as an artist’s studio.
The nearby pergola with stunning panoramic views is the owners’ favourite place for relaxation, with a convenient room for storage below.
The entire house has central heating which is fuelled by the 800 l gpl tank and the owners put in a new condensation boiler in 2021. There is a very efficient septic system which has only needed to be emptied once in 15 years.
