Just north of the city of Pescia, between the city and the Appenines, there is an area called the Svizzera Pesciatina.  The name was coined by the Swiss Historian and Economist, Jean Charles Léonard Simonde of Sismondi. This passionate traveller felt that this area strongly resembled his birthplate in the corner of Tuscany.

This area comprises ten Medieval villages (called "castelle"), constructed in "pietra serena" which is a local stone.  This house is found just outside one of them called Aramo.  Each of the ten villages are connected by a walking path immersed in unspoilt nature.

The stone house is accessed by a narrow, at times, gravel road with some quite tight corners. When one arrives, one is rewarded by the beautiful stone farmhouse with its own parking area.  There is a overhang and a fully working pizza oven.  The house develops towards the south and has four floors going down to a stunning terrace.

The entrance, on the ground floor, leads into a large sitting room and kitchen.  On this floor is there is bedroom with bunk beds and 2 bathrooms one of which is characterised with double sinks.  Up the original "granular" stairs there are two more bedrooms and a bathroom off one of the bedrooms.

Lower down, the house gets really interesting with a beautiful lounge and library characterised by arches.   There  is a bedroom off a hallway with a feature glass door leading out to one of the terraces.  Further down again there are two more bedrooms which share a further bathroom.  These rooms also have access to a very large, gravel space.

The owner has installed an above ground swimming pool and a jacuzzi on the terraces behind the house.  These are pleasing to have to make this a classic Tuscan farmhouse.
