Restored Home in Lively Village with Garden and WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF LOCAL SERVICES
The fully-renovated house is accessed on foot, however there is ample free parking available nearby. The house is characterised by wooden beams, traditional terracotta tiles and enjoys unspoilt, panoramic views of the Tuscan hills to the south.
The house consists of five rooms over three floors. Entering through the front door, the living room has an open fire, terracotta tiles and wood beams and currently contains a sofa-bed providing living space, with views to the hills, as well as extra sleeping accommodation for any guests. The room is sizeable enough that it could be divided by a partition and could be used therefore as either a sitting room or bedroom. The modern bathroom with shower is off from this room and there is also a small balcony.
A bespoke staircase with a metal frame and wooden stairs, leads down to the kitchen which extends for the full length of the ground floor and includes handmade, chestnut-wood kitchen units, a fridge and washing machine as well as ample space for dining and an utility area. The central heating boiler is located here (with the exception of the bathroom, all rooms have gas central heating distributed via radiators). The kitchen is tiled with modern tiles and has wood beams.
The kitchen door opens to a sunny patio area with a tiled awning offering shade and, down some steps, to a sizeable garden which also houses the (underground) GPL tank. The patio and garden also enjoy panoramic views of the hills.
Ascending from the living room, the top floor is divided into two rooms. The master bedroom is accessed through the first room and has terracotta tiles, wood beams and high ceilings which show off the internal terracotta roof tiles and has the most elevated panoramic views of the hills of all the rooms in the house. The first room enjoys sunshine in the afternoon from a west-facing window and also has high ceilings. It could be used as a dressing room, second bedroom (bunk-beds would particularly suit it) or a sitting room. As throughout the house, its window is bespoke wooden framed. All windows also have shutters.
There are many tourist attractions near to the house including paintballing, Quadbike tours and kayaking. In winter, Tuscany’s ski slopes at Abetone are only c.45 minutes away by car. The area also has many walking paths and MTB trails for the outdoor types. The ‘Alta Via Dei Pastori’ footpath passes only a stone’s throw from the house which climbs over a mountain from where the island of Elba and the Med can be seen. The village also has a local museum and Romanesque church.
Despite the many local attractions, the house and village still retain their unspoilt, peaceful nature.
