Villa Liberty Built on 1200 mq of fenced, flat garden
Barga is known a cultural centre with fantastic restaurants and even a theatre. The city enjoys two major music festivals: Barga Jazz and Barga Opera which take place in the Summer. The city is the home of many celebrated artists as well as having strong ties with Scotland celebrated by the city's annual Fish and Chip festival where the residents import haddock especially for the supper.
The countryside around is stunning with excellent walking and MTB paths. It can also be explored on horseback.
The number of activities is never ending as, in the winter, there is skiing just a little over one hours-drive away. The city has a jazz club and, in December, a chocolate festival.
The villa has full car access with private parking on the and. one enters into a large hallway boasting traditional Tessieri floor tiles. This is a neo-style villa Liberty as it was built in 1929. It is set in the middle of a gorgeous flat garden offering accessibility as well as privacy.
There are two large reception rooms, an eat-in kitchen with granite tops. Off the kitchen is a delightful guest suite with its own bathroom and balcony. There is also a day room with a terrazza off it. This room is lovely and light and so could even be a painting studio.
The staircase is made from marble from Belgium marble and the house is a little dark but only because of the wall paper on the walls.
During the 1990's, the family made the cantinas into a Summer apartment as it was cooler here for their mother. This had a bedroom, kitchen, sitting room with a wood burning stove. The boiler room is found here as well as the laundry. There are, in total 4 rooms under the house with convenient access from the back garden.
The First floor is where the 4 bedrooms are but one is a walk-though. There is the original bathroom.
The attic space was restored in the 1960's and is used for storage.
The garage has space for one car with a room above it. Interestingly, the garden is partly classified as buildable.
This would make a great bed and breakfast for Barga which often gets fully booked.
